This particular paper raffia is a product introduced (originally) to the Gift Wrap industry. However, I find it to be extremely durable and very stable as a "crochet" fiber. Because this product (Wraphia II) is also very stiff, some crocheters might find it difficult to work with. It simply does not have the "give" that yarn has.
On the other hand, if you keep an open mind and have a little patience until you and your hook become familiar with crocheting the paper raffia "fabric", you just might find that it's a fun and different experience that produces a hat or bag worth many compliments. "Wraphia II", as it is offered here in our Crochet Shoppe, comes in 25 fabulous colors. Each color is sold in 100 yd spools.
The Paper Raffia patterns (M.E. Nolfi Designs), also sold here in the Crochet Shoppe, were designed specifically for use with "Wraphia II", and generally require a size I crochet hook.
